WEDNESDAY AUGUST 29, 2012
Today we thought we would go to Laverty Falls and then decided to hike Moosehorn Trail too, for a total of 7.3 km (5.5 miles). The waterfall was beautiful and the rocks surrounding the area were amazing.
The first part of Laverty Falls was not bad. There were many tree roots but not hard going. It took about 50 minutes to reach the falls. The weather was glorious and the falls breathtaking.
The second part of the trip, Moosehorn Trail, was a little challenging. At one place we walked out into the Broad River bed on huge rocks and had to search hard to find the trail where it went back into the woods. Then there was a switchback up the mountain. We walked up the switchback. I think it was easier than going down. My knees don't like going down mountains.
